All parents know how difficult it can be to give your kids healthy snacks. We all want what is best for our kids, but the convenience of packing our children a bag of chips sometimes seems easier than packing them healthy snacks. While this may seem true, there are many healthy options that you can pack your kids that do not take long to prepare at all. Whether your kids are picky eaters, are constantly on the go, or are on a growth spurt and eating a lot there are many options available for you and your children:

1. Hummus and veggies
One of the best snacks for kids is hummus and veggies. This option is also one of the best protein rich snacks and is great for kids on the go or those having a growth spurt. You can make your own hummus or even buy it from the store and portion it for your kids individually. There is an endless number of veggies that can go with this choice, so find your kids favorite and pack it for them.

2. Ants on a Log
This is another great snack for your children because it is healthy and is one of the best tasting protein rich snacks. The peanut butter is full of protein and makes the celery taste delicious. The raisins on top give it the extra bit of healthy goodness. Even if you have picky kids this fun idea may get your kids excited about trying something new.

3. Yogurt
This is one of the most nutritious snacks for kids. It is full of calcium to keep your kids’ bones strong and healthy. Even the pickiest eaters can surely find a yogurt flavor that they will try, especially if they see their parents eating it too. If your child is hitting a growth spurt this is the perfect snack to keep their bones growing strong.

4. Nuts
If your child is not allergic to nuts and can chew solid foods, nuts make a great snack. They are full of protein, healthy fats, and antioxidants to support healthy brain development. Nuts are a perfect snack for kids on the go because they can easily be served in a Ziploc bag and they do not need to be refrigerated. You kids can eat a few now and the rest later, depending on their appetite and busy schedule.

If you have a picky child you can offer them fruit smoothies. Smoothies are a great way to pack in fruits, dairy, and sometimes even vegetables into a healthy drink. Your child will love the drink so much that they may forget that it is healthy for them. If you do make a smoothie try to avoid using fruit juices that are high in sugar.

This is a quick snack that is full of protein and perfect for kids on the go. It is a quick snack to eat, but it is full of proteins and other vitamins that all kids need to grow up healthy. The vitamins support healthy brain and body development, which makes it an ideal snack for all children.
